Medical repatriation
Faced with the influx of increasingly distant and numerous trips, the potential risk of accidents abroad increases, the same goes for diseases, some of which can be described as contagious and therefore dangerous for all those around the patient, in most cases medical repatriation could prove necessary, we have therefore set up a team of health professionals made up of ambulance drivers, nurses and doctors, these partners are all trained and regularly retrained to intervene in all cases, they are able to ensure your transport in the best conditions of comfort in a medical vehicle equipped with the most modern means to deal with any eventuality during transport.
The lives of our patients, their safety and their trust are important standards for us and they will remain our priorities, the vehicle as well as the crews we send are selected to send the best crew, we leave nothing to chance, a medical repatriation requires careful preparation to avoid any unpleasant surprises during transport, the equipment is therefore checked and disinfected regularly, the crews are always ready to leave as soon as possible to avoid the patient having to wait too long and anxious.
A medical repatriation can be done in either direction, either you are abroad and you want to return close to home, or you have to go abroad for special care, or you are staying in Belgium and a medical problem prevents you from returning to your region, in all cases you can call on our services and we will do what is necessary to ensure that you are transferred very quickly.
Your transfer may last hours or even days depending on the distance to be covered. During the entire journey, one of our team members will stay with you in the health unit to watch over you. They will take care of all your needs, whether it be to hydrate you, feed you or take your medication. They will also be ready to intervene if the slightest problem arises. Depending on your condition, you may need special care during the transport.
For any medical repatriation we contact the medical team in charge of the patient while waiting for our arrival so as to be best prepared for any discomfort or crises that may occur during the journey. Being informed in advance allows us to better counteract problems if we are already prepared for them.
Finally, some patients feel more confident when accompanied by a loved one, especially when they are children. We encourage this option whenever possible, provided that there is space on board the vehicle, often depending on the number of team members we will have to send. Contact our dispatching team who will give you all the information you deem useful.
